Medical review
Our medical review process
We believe health content should be honest about how thoroughly it's been reviewed — not just polished to look authoritative. Every article on Benthos Health displays one of the statuses below.
This is what every article on Benthos Health shows today:
Medical review pending. This article has been editorially reviewed for clarity and conservative, widely established language, but has not yet been reviewed by a licensed clinician. See our medical review process.
What "medically reviewed" will mean
When an article has been reviewed by a licensed clinician for clinical accuracy, we display their name and credentials along with the review date. We will never display a reviewer name or credential that doesn't reflect an actual review.
What "medical review pending" means
Articles marked this way have been written and edited to use clear, conservative, widely established language, and have gone through our editorial process — but have not yet been reviewed by a licensed clinician. We publish some content in this state rather than leaving whole topics uncovered, but we're transparent about it either way. See our editorial standards for how that content is still held to a high bar.
Where we are today
Benthos Health's clinical review program is still being established. As licensed reviewers join that process, articles will be updated to reflect real review — with real names and real credentials, never invented ones.
